I am not sure. There is very little information about the area we are hunting. There was a little Revolutionary War activity here but we have found a few civil war artifacts here to. This was from our hunt yesterday. The piece of heel plate and it looks like a bullet from civil war as well.

My favorite find yesterday was this lead stamp that was being cut to make musketballs.

have you tried taking a rubbing of the stamp to see if you can read it?

No not yet. I cleaned it up and looked at it under magnifying glass and blew the picture up but I still couldn't make it out. Will try to do a rubbing. Thanks for the idea.

Based on their size relative to the penny, they look like shirt studs or very small buttons. Look too small for cuff links.

I don't know the correct term to call them, but I think they are hat band stays/buttons.
