Hi. Up near the top of my bucket list is the project to ID parts of an iron Light Carriage/Swivel gun I dug decades ago. Have yet to get an ID as to type, age and country of origin. I figured this group would contain the most experience when it came to cannons.
I found three pieces of which I have two and gave my digging buddy the third. They were big globs of rust when they came out and spent some time in electrolysis before coming clean. They were found near the salt marsh in SC. Never did find any more pieces. It appears to have a 2" bore. I know it is a long shot (no pun intended) but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Any help?
