id on this naval badge please ?

Hi there , looking for any information on this badge the front part has been cleaned (looks to be bronze)but the back still has remnants of dirt no lugs or slider are evident and look to have ever been any .
measures about 30mm x 40mm maybe some sort of arm badge , what sort of age would it have been worn and by whom ?

Ok here is what I think you have. I may be wrong but our friends here will fix it if I am. I think it is a rank insignia for a chief petty officer. Probably off a hat.

That is not Coast gaurd or US Navy anything. It might be Jrotc or Rotc. But I dought it.
