Ideas?

I found a symbol carved on a rock at the edge of a cornfield.. Interested if its just a property maker or something else...

Looks like a boat.

Size and direction would help ( necessary size of the boulder everything )

the "mast" is pointing south.. It is about 12" long

Could be a combo of letters. Hard to tell from a drawing.
Angles are odd on it though.

That would give you 3 directions to look, you may have intersected a trail in the middle, there may be other symbols in the directions indicated S E W possibly 1200 / 1350 feet = 7 cordels and it depends on what they used for measurements, 33 / 36 inches per pace
