Identification Help...Grinding Stone?

I found this lake side of a very well know Archaic occupation site. This has been the source of hundreds of artifacts. It's tough to get any real detail from the granite but it has definitely been ground smooth and there are scrapes all over the faces. Enlarge the pictures for details. East coast of Canada.

it does have that convex look on the flat surface....sure could be a metate of sorts...
 
Interesting Find! By viewing the third and fourth photo's, and due to it's size, it looks like it may have been used as a metate.

Yep, I looked for the other half but no go. It was found in the shallows of a large lake so the other half is most likely submerged as well.
 
Might show up one day. The type of stone is a nice color and has a good shape to it. Would of been a real nice example if it was whole.
