Do silver clad Ike dollars have a rim similar to 40% Kennedys, and what does NIFC stand for? Newbie

Thanks,

Don't know about silver clad IKES, but NIFC stands for "Not Intended for Circulation". From 2002 to present, halves had to be ordered from the mint to get them, unless of course you find them as rejects while CRHing.

The clad Ikes do appear the same as a 40% JFK.

NIFC years in addition to jims note also include the 2001P, 1987P&D & 1970D as well as any minted in S.F. in the last couple of decades.

.........and they were minted in numbers that are a fraction of the typical halves through 2001.
