I'll NEVER Get These Home!

I wasn't using a detector but did eyeball these today!

While doing research on the cannon fragment I found last weekend I learned of several cannons that have been abandoned near where I live. Little Patrick and I decided we were going to find them. It took some treking as they are well off the beaten path but we found them.

I shouldn't joke about getting them home...5 years ago someone actually tried to remove them from where they've been sitting since 1812 but were only able to move one a few feet. The huge rope in the pictures is actually from the thieves which was left behind.

I know where some are around here, not nearly that old I'd imagine, but I'd sure like to have one.... Still their location makes it pretty near impossible since I don't own a large boat with a big wench on it..... I'd still be tempted to give it a shot

UNBELEIVABLE FIND . DAMN I WILL HAVE TO LOOK IN MY BOOK TO SEE WHICH MONOGRAM IS ON THE BARREL . UNREAL AND AWESOME THE LITTLE FELLA SEEMS TO BE DETERMINED TO GET THOSE THINGS MOVING , FINDING RELICS WITH A KID IS WORTH JUST AS IMPORTANT AS ANY FIND AND THE QUALITY TIME WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN .

Exactly! That's how we started the day...it was a mission! We knew that the cannons were there but we had no idea where they were exactly. We actually climbed up one embankment first and ended up in the back yard of someone's summer home...climbed back down and continued on down the beach. The only reason we found them was because of the massive rope tied to the tree at the top of the bank. It was really a fun day!
