I'm a half hunter what am I going to do with all these old nickels

Walked into a bank and asked for halves and the teller said no but I have some nickels from the '30s and '40 and 1 roll from 1961.

When I opened up the roll here is what I found

2 rolls 1940 D + 1

1 1955 D
1 1953 P
4 1957 P
1 1947 P
6 1952 P

I keep nickels with a 20 million or less mintage only. All of the ones you listed are more than that. If it were me I'd keep any 42 war nickels and dump the rest. You may try fee bay if any are in decent condition (per roll). All of the ones you have listed are large volume mintages so unless you have some that would grade higher you got pretty much face value imo. That is unless you can actually find some one who wants to horde nickel metal for a hedge. To each their own I guess.

I'd check those 1939s very closely: There's a key error where "Monticello" is doubled, and it can be worth good money. I got 2 over the years from CRHing.
