I'm engaged! ...And I proposed with my DFX!
I wasn't sure where it was the most appropriate place to post this story, so if any Admins want to move it that's fine....
This past weekend my girlfriend and I took a trip up to my property in upstate New York....the weather was absolutely perfect and all the fall foliage was amazing.
When she was a little girl, her parents had taken her to Disney and she fell in love with Cameo jewelry but they wouldn't buy her anything. She prayed that one day her husband would get it for her (she was 7 at the time). She told me kiddingly that whoever married her had to get it for her but she wouldn't tell me what it was. After dating for 2 years I was able to deduce that it was cameo jewelry. So...as she laid down to take a nap I told her I was going to go detecting for awhile on my 91 acres. I walked down to an apple orchard and dug a big hole and buried a pair of 1940's cameo earrings. Underneath the earrings, I buried the engagement ring.
I yelled to her that she had to come see what I had found. She said just bring it here and I replied "I can't carry it, I need your help." She sprinted down the hill thinking I had discovered a chest of coins or something. I pulled out the earrings and she couldn't believe what I had found. I then took my bullseye pointer and said "It's still beeping, there's something else in the hole." I pulled out the ring, said my piece and she said yes. I pulled out a bottle of champagne I had hid in my backpack and we drank a quick gulp and then poured it all over each other.
I'm sure she'll never look at my hobby the same way again!
