my girlfriend gets a good laugh - usually elderly people
will point and tell everyone - look at the seal
when I got out of the water (I was in before anyone was there)
an older Russian woman thought I was a seal - then she was telling me where
all the Russians swim covered in gold - an old hunt partner of mine got a huge diamond

Is it true the sharks are attracted to the shiny scoop? if so does it make sense to paint them black or is it just to remote to be attacked by a shark while detecting. But then again they eat seals with out scoops.

For me detector in front long 58 inch ash handle (floats if I let go) with scoop in tow. Elbows down and if I take a hit... Maybe I'll have a chance! An old more mature shark well he already knows were I am, way before he see's me!! :notworthy:
OBN is right! Safety first and when in doubt stay out!

Did a quick search to find out why most wet suits are black. It one thing to be mistaken for a seal but it can be hazardous to you if jet skies cant see you. Im looking at getting a cold water wet suit and taking this in consideration. Or at least having a bright coulerd hood or gloves. It seems there black because colors fade and show dirt and stains more easily. And it can make you look slimmer.

On the news this morn they have a vid of the biggest great white ever caught on film...
"Big Blue" I think they named her...
20 footer...
Could take ya in one bite.

At least it would be "fast".... OR swallow ya whole and you could live inside her for a bit eating tires and dead fish.

Tickle her tonsils maybe she would spit ya back out. :P

I have a tall "free diver below" flag that sticks out of water about 4 feet if I need it

Mistaken for seal? I'm going
to make sure that doesn't happen to me. When I get my wet suit, will pick up some antlers to go with it.
