OBITUARY​

Peter Calvert George​

April 29, 1949 – January 2, 2026​

Peter Calvert George, 76, of Chesterfield, VA passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mirian and Peter George Comento; and his sister, Linda McGee. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Connie Faye George; and his brother, James Comento of Lawrenceville, GA. Peter was an avid Civil War enthusiast. He was a very well-noted Civil War relics dealer and the co-author of Field Artillery Projectiles of the American Civil War. Peter was an amateur rosarian and has grown over 200 roses around his property, his favorite being the tea rose. Peter was a devout Christian who praised and loved the Lord.

I was worried about his health, since he hasn't been logged on since early July.

RIP CBG/George, my condolences to his family and friends.
 
He was gracious enough to help me identify a button that I found down in FL… I wouldn’t know anything about it if it wasn’t for him.
RIP, and condolences to those who knew and loved him.
 
Definitely a loss to the community. I did notice some post in the past which you would think Thecannonballguy would speak into to, but he never did. RIP Peter Calvert George.

Great tribute to one of the most knowledgeable and helpful person in his field. Always enjoyed him helping us with kindness and facts.
He will be missed.
