Incredible civil war bullets!!!

Found this today at a confederate camp site. Thought this would make a good first post.

That's pretty cool.

The more I look at this I think the musket ball was placed on the bore and fired. I cannot imagine a collision this centered. Anyone seen one of these before?

I think you are right, Johnt...d2

Nice digs. That is interesting for sure.

I'd say that you have found a superb piece of Confederate camp art. Good job!

Very cool, I think it's trench art, I think too many impossible things would have to happen for two colliding projectiles to stick together.

[ivan salis]

looks like a carved chess piece --like a pawn or bishop

[johnt_ms]

I would suspect it carved but there are pronounced rifling marks om the miniball and no knife marks

[parsonwalker]

Whatever it is, it's plenty unique! And a superb "First post." Welcome.

[CASPER-2]

I think it is camp art too - cool find

[UnderMiner]

It looks like a piece from a chess set. A Confederate soldier must made that in his spare time. Very cool. A museum display worthy piece if you ask me.
Here are some Civil War chess piece bullets to compare:
