Hey everyone,

Mostly a coin hunter I am going to ask a question to all you experts in artifacts.
Some of the detecting bans going on are based upon artifact finds and the "Great Historical Committees" that don't want detector users hunting and digging up artifacts.
Tell me if I am wrong about this.

Didn't the Indians make their points, tools and jewelry items out of rocks, stones, and beads??? Before they got ahold of the metal tools and items, that the Army, the traders, and the settlers had.......

And as far as I know from 35 years of detecting.....detectors don't pick up rocks and stones that the spear points, arrow points, axes, and chisels , the Indians made from rocks.

I would like to know, What metal items did the Indians have, before they got the stuff from the non-Indians????

All you would have to do is look alittle further down on the forums under the heading of Old Copper Culture to get the answer you are looking for!

They are defining artifacts as anything older than 50 years old (see FL regulations), not just ancient indian stuff.
That makes me an artifact.
