Indian beads

Can any of you post a few picks of Indian beads? Trying to determine, if what we are finding are actually beads.

Thanks for the info, but the ones we find are ruff and weathered looking.

Would help if you posted pics of yours so everyone could check them out. I have never found one but there's a lot of knowledgeable people that could tell just from looking at pics of them.

Show some pictures. I bet you are finding Crinoids and not Beads.

Here are pictures of some of my Beads. These are Shell, Bone, and the last frame shows some Glass Trade Beads from California.

Here are the only ones I've found and that was over 25 years ago.

I don't have any pics, but the one I found was down in Louisiana and it was of Choctaw origin. It was made of baked clay and looked exactly like a Cheerio.

Some photos would be a lot of help. The 1st photo is of glass trade beads the 2nd, 3rd and 4th are of a crinoid stem that was used for a bead. You can see wear on this one, if you are finding these and they show no wear then they are a fossil. The one I'm showing has a polish to it from being worn, also it was found with another stone bead that was made into an Owl effigy. You will find crinoids in just about all gravel deposits and in some areas you can pick them up by the handful.
