Bout 30 years ago my brother and I were in my grandmas basement wich was just a dirt basement and out of the dirt walls we pulled out two beautiful shape Indian hammerhead stones , I still have them to this day , they are fairly large and heavy , was wondering if they are worth anything ? Or anyways to trace back to whom would have used them? I will post pix soon

Also would it be possible to trace back to the Native American tribe that used it?

Nice artifact find! I think it resembles the mauls that others have posted. Late Archaic is my guess for a time period. Post the other one when you find it. Thanks for pics!

Ok length is 4-1/4
Diameter is 9"
Width is 2-1/4
Has some nice weight to it. Scale broke so can't weigh it ,

This is JMO it looks to be a war club head, I say this because I see no marks on the head where it was used has a hammer, it just looks to nice and to much work was put in it for a hammer. It's a great find and if I could I would go back to that basement and do some more looking.:laughing7:

Well that's very interesting as well,
And yes it's in very nice condition. Thanx everyone for helping me out with identifying this artifact

Can we see a direct pic of the bit area? Also is it like a cobble with a groove or does it come to a point like a Celt or Ax?
