Indian Head Stats! I'd love to find one - how many boxes per find?

I found my first Barber Dime last week (after 200+ boxes!!) and now my sights are set on an IH penny.

How many boxes did you go through to get one? Statistically, how common are they? I'm prepared to do a box of pennies a day throughout October to get one.

I have never found one and been through hundreds of dollars in cents. Probably close to $1000 worth.

I've sorted 397 boxes over 3 years and found 12 Indians.

I searched 5-7 boxes, and found an 1859 in VF, and an 1891 in VG.

I thought I found one in a reject tray last year, turned out it stuck to a magnet. I tossed it into a bag of halves before I sealed it up and brought it to my dump bank. To whoever finds that and is super stoked, sorry.

Over $1000 in cents searched, found my first Indian Head, a 1903, dark but in decent condition. Liberty at least faintly visible in the headdress.

Definitely won't be buying a Whitman anytime soon.
