Looks like a chopper-used for dressing animal kills

Wow, that's an amazing find. Awesome condition and complete!

Awesome find, congratulations! :occasion14:

Doesn't look like a Wadlow, looks more like a paleolithic hand axe.

A wadlow is a large unnotched blade that is typically a straight base. straight blade edges and acute distal end. It may have a recovered or convex edge and the basal edge may be straight, conclave or convex.

Here is a sample of a wadlow.

Could the OP's piece also be a pre-form?

Always possible it is a preform, I personally doubt it is wadlow preform. I have several hand axed/choppers that look like that.

Looks like a Burlington flint biface that was rejected because of the cracks. Fatal flaws that kept the Indian from proceeding. Gary

Congrats. Nice find.

Preform not finished for one reason or another but a beautiful artifact with super large reduction flakes and will display very well indeed.

Congrats on a very nice find.

Nice find and I have to along with the preform idea also. You can see the large reduction flakes and areas that were never struck. JMO the cracks did not cause a problem with the preform because the flakes carried very well through and across them, it just never got finished or could have been from a stash of preforms. Cool find anyway you look at it.:icon_thumleft:
