I was able to make it out for a couple lunch hour hunts near my office this week.
Both sites are on the 1851 map and easy access in park woods. I’ve pounded both over the last year, but you never know what will pop out from the iron if your over old dirt.
First cool find was this lead Indian warrior figure.

I’ve found lead figures before, but usually almost no paint and typically missing a head, arm, base. This is my best yet.
Side Note: I work in the Seneca Valley area of SW PA. The Venango Trail runs through this particular park. It was an old Seneca Indian trail and actually GW himself hiked this trail. I recently watched an oldie but a goodie, the 1947 movie “Unconquered” with Gary Cooper. It is a romance, but covers the colonial/pioneer period around Pittsburgh. Boris Karloff plays the Seneca Indian Chief, Guyasuta. Whenever I’m hiking through the woods and over streams here I envision the original Inhabitants, now I found one...
The next hunt netted a really cool keeper.

Ground was incredibly muddy, with the big warm up after yesterday’s snow storm. I had very few good signals, but this one was a perfect silver dime tone, 27-28 both ways and deep.

Definitely my best solid Silver thimble. No makers marks that I can see, but I love the design and that it popped out in basically perfect shape!
Here’s the handful.

Good luck out there!
