The only places I've hunted around here is Fortville and Riley Parks and one of the elementery schools, Mt. Compfort. A decent amount of clad at the school and Fortville park, but riley park I think has been so heavily hunted, don't find much. I'm pretty new at this so I haven't tried that many places. I also wanted a very good detector and so I ended up buying a Minelab Explorer II, and haveing trouble adjusting to it with its high learning curb, but practice makes perfect.I also need to get off my butt and get to the library to do some research. How about you?

I own a whites MXT and I am going to purchase next Wed. a DD1400 coil for it.I found about 6600 coins last year at alot of the usual places, parks, fairgrounds, schools etc.My favorite areas for quantity have parking areas.Traveling is not a problem and I am at the library right now looking for different schools in my area. This year I plan on hitting a few different fairgrounds and do a little hunting in Mich.and Iowa.I am in good with a groundskeeper at Marion county fairgrounds I have done well there maybe we can check it out this spring.

that sounds good to me, do you ever try to do any cache hunting? I'm looking into some of that.

bigrig40, I also use an MXT and about 2 weeks ago recieved the DD 1400 and the shooter DD coils. The Shooter is the best thing I've bought since the MXT. It's unbelievable how much stuff we miss in high trash areas that this coil will seperate out. The DD 1400 is also a great coil, but it's pretty heavy and your arm will be sore after the first 15 minutes. Also, It's really tricky pin-pointing with the 1400 but it is well worth the money.
mbrolin, The Mt. Comfort Elementary School is where I went through Elementary school. Sure is a small world. I lived only a couple miles from there on Buck Creek Rd.. Mt. Comfort Elementary School happens to be where I learned to drive a race car when I had just turned 4 years old. I used to practice on the parking lot to the left of the school (if your facing it from the road) in a Quarter Midget race car. I was doing 60 mph around that lot when I was 4. Played baseball there too, but who cares about that.

Yeah, I went to Mt. Comfort Elementry too back then. I can't see doing 60mph in that parking lot, doesn't seem that big. I bet it was fun though.

Cache hunting is something I'd like to get into. I have the 10 volume United States Treasure Atlas, there alot of good information in there. It shows alot of ghost towns in it, but the few I have visited are nothing but residential area now, hopeing to find one thats just a field now.
