Information needed on Stephen Putney Shoe company Watch Fob

[Woodland Detectors]

Here is a great looking fob I dug in North Carolina last week. From what I have read, the company is very Civil War Confederate Veteran sponsoring. Any info provided will be appreciated.
The reverse Reads:

"Battle Axe Shoe Co."
"Built On Honor"
Stephen-Putney Shoe-Co.
Richmond Va.
