I found this not to long ago I just forgot about it until today. I was walking the creek in a town that was settled in 1790 and found it in the bank. I believe it's early 19th c but I don't know jack about inkwells. On each side it has a different word it says Josiah Johnson's Japan writing fluid London. It looks like its made of stoneware and a salt glaze. I have looked it up and found a picture of on of a different color but no info about it. I love it I just wish I could find some info about it. Thanks for looking

Crazy thought - you don't live anywhere in New England, do you? If so, there was a guy in Massachusetts named Josiah Johnson Hawes, who actually did portraits for a while, then did daguerreotypes.

No I live in western NY but that's some cool info thanks for sharing
