Hello, as you know I am a crazy bottle digger and occasionally come up with some insulators. We found these in a pit that we figure dated to around 1900-1906. Wondering if anyone out there knows anything at all about these particular ones. I think they are very crude but do have a great color. Let me know what ya think.

Ps. I did post a rather lengthy picturefest on todays finds if you all care to check that out  Thanks for any help on the insulators! jgas

Your right they are LRI's, spool shaped. They were used to insulate the rod from the mounting hardware and the cable that carried the current to the ground. Used on houses and barns and other buildings.

http://www.insulators.info/go-withs/lri.htm click photographs and you'll see yours after a couple pages. Nice color. The better the condition the better they sell. Here is a couple selling now with 2 days left-http://tinyurl.com/6xunpbf

to me that isn't to bad of a price for insulators

Hey thanks for the info on the insulators. They must have had them on the stables they tore down and tossed them in the pit. They are in decent shape I think. They are worth a few bucks then at least. Thanks Diggummup for those sites, I appreciate it. jgas
