I just began the metal detecting hobby several months ago and after doing some research, found a sports complex about 5 miles away I wasn't even aware of after living here for twelve years. So I started to hunt this complex and it is a perfect site. It has 13 soccer fields and 2 football fields, two picnic shelters and a concession stand with restrooms and a drinking fountain...everything I need is right there. Several weeks ago, the city re-outlined all the soccer fields and now it's easy to grid everything and know what areas I've already hunted. I mostly go in the mornings, since the evenings and Saturdays it's a soccer mom haven with a zillion kids at this site. So far I've found almost 300 clad coins worth over $25 and I haven't even finished one complete soccer field yet! Below is a picture of some of the more intersting finds:
1 car key (looks like from a Chrysler)
2 charms (one with Taylor inscribed on it)
1 Car wash token (a Model T is inscribed on it)
1 Coin meter token (has a flying eagle on it)
1 sacagewea dollar coin (2000 P)
1 20 cent gold Euro coin (surprised to find that one in the middle of the field)
1 ring (nothing special about it - Thailand inscribed on the inside)
1 10" iron spike - looks like a property marker (maybe I should put it back
)
Anyway, this is my first picture post so I hope it comes out OK. Thanks for looking.
