Made to the bank with about 5 minutes to spare today...

Tried to get a box of pennies and nickels

Could only manage to buy what the teller had available 39 rolls of pennies and 5 rolls of nickels.

But after I opened them I am not complaining.

The nickels had 3 pre-1960 jeffersons with one being a 1939-S.

The pennies were an interesting mix... I am assuming someone recently passed on for whom the year 1919 and possibly 1917 were important to them as I found the following:

16 wheat pennies:
2 - 1917
3 - 1919
1 - 1919-D
2 - 1919-S
1 - 1930-S
1 - 1937-D
1 - 1944
1 - 1944-D
1 - 1951-D
1 - 1952-D
1 - 1953-D
1 - 1957-D

This search also put me over a quarter million coins searched for 2007. I doubt I can keep the pace up, but it sure has been fun so far.

You found some great dates and mint marks for early cents, impressive! Congratulations!

I agree, those are some nice finds. I have found probably close to 20 1939 nickels. None with mint marks. I have found a couple 1938 D nickels.
