Went out to Iowa City for Family Weekend and to see my Son.
Was able to get a little bit of detecting in.
One of the places I did was a field near an old school house that is the town's Historical Museum
I first dug a pocket watch that I stuck my shovel into.
Then I found a 1919S wheat in nice condition.
Then I found this Large Dollar size coin at about 2 inches down. ( I didn't even hit it )
At first my heart skipped a beat cause I thought it was a Dirty Silver Dollar, That would have been a first.
I then saw the writing on it and knew it wasn't that elusive silver dollar.
At first I didn't look at it and the when on swinging the coil.
When I got back to the car I was looking at it when I realized that it was the same school that was a few lots over.
So I walked over to take pictures of the school to try to capture the same view as the coin.
I thought that it was so cool to find it, now.
As you can see in the photo that it is a CENTENNIAL YEAR COIN for CORALVILLE ,IOWA 1873 to 1973 with the OLD SCHOOL on the front.
Thanks for looking.

Very neat token,,, WTG!!!
That pine tree out front doesn't seem to have gotten much bigger in the (34), or so years, since the picture on the coin was taken...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

I love that school coin. . . it's great when you find something like that and know exactly where it was from.
