Went out to Iowa City for Family Weekend and to see my Son.
Was able to get a little bit of detecting in.
One of the places I did was a field near an old school house that is the town's Historical Museum
I first dug a pocket watch that I stuck my shovel into.
Then I found a 1919S wheat in nice condition.
Then I found this Large Dollar size coin at about 2 inches down. ( I didn't even hit it )
At first my heart skipped a beat cause I thought it was a Dirty Silver Dollar, That would have been a first.
I then saw the writing on it and knew it wasn't that elusive silver dollar.
At first I didn't look at it and the when on swinging the coil.
When I got back to the car I was looking at it when I realized that it was the same school that was a few lots over.
So I walked over to take pictures of the school to try to capture the same view as the coin.
I thought that it was so cool to find it, now.
As you can see in the photo that it is a CENTENNIAL YEAR COIN for CORALVILLE ,IOWA 1873 to 1973 with the OLD SCHOOL on the front.
Thanks for looking.
