Just wanted to share these with all of you. The Iron Brigade is featured in a segment of The Coulter Plough (a Kentucky-Interest DVD series produced by professional film maker John Coulter and hosted by TV personality Kevin Harned). Here are two teasers that are portions of the full segment. You can watch them on full screen, since they are very high quality.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

First off, thank you ALL for the kind words. I think it is important to Promote and Share my hobby with those who don't know much about detecting. I have another clip that I may post at some point, that talks about detecting in general--and some of my finds in specific. There is a good bit in that clip, but I think these two are more interesting and special.

Sandman,

Good to hear from you. I feel strongly about metal detecting--the reasons I do it, my philosophies about the past, its relationship to us today, and the ethical ins and outs of metal detecting. I also feel that my hobby is something very sacred to me at times. I wanted to convey a bit of that on the video, and the film maker was happy to oblige.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

very well done

Love your video's Will, you speak with such elegance that me feel like I'm there with you. Great Job

Nicely done.
It's good to know that there are others out there that share the same interest's.
Kudos to the film makers, and their sincere efforts to show the passion, love and respect of this amazing hobby.
And teaching that there is much, much more involved than the unearthing of valuable loot for ones personal gain.

Keep up the good work

Well I have to tell you...

I have never seen such UN SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS in vids ...

Usually you got some trio telling you how great they are... warts and all ... :laughing9:

Just superior filmage ... really a treat to all the senses ...

BRAVO ~ Al

Thanks Will !
Its videos like this that help show a positive image through respect and research. Be good for new hobbyst to see this. I enjoyed it very much and can relate to the past and the history associated with it. Thank you for sharing.
Everyone is right its much better than the ones where 3 guys with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths dig a bayonet and hoop and hollar but never include any history. I take insitus when possible but refuse to make the leap to video.
I think if you are going to post your hobby on youtube for the world to see you should put a little thought into it. My humble opinion.

I couldn't agree more. That's part of the reason that I have shied away from video in the past. I knew that it would take some Real Work to put something together that I would be proud of. I have no trouble posting photos on forums like these for an audience of primarily "insiders" to see. But video on YouTube is another story. Glad you enjoyed this. I am hoping I can coerce John to post the complete segment on YouTube at some point--after his subscribers have gotten a chance to enjoy their own personal copies for a while.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

Buckles and the Iron Brigade, you rock!

You know THE question, "What's the best thing you've ever found?"

Always puzzles the masses to say, "Insight" or "Understanding"

You know you've found someone special when they know what you mean.

Every RIO I dig is some tiny thing that was used by hardened people against times we can now only imagine.

Great work guys!
