Iron from a civil war battle area.

This is a heavy Iron object from a area where there was a small civil war battle here in East Tennessee. Any Idea about what it may be.

I don't know what it is but it looks like it could use some serious electrolysis to give more details.

Think it would be two heavy for a handle for a knife or sword. What is it I have no Idea yet.

Maybe do not see any where it would have been attached to stove. But that is a good guess.
