Found this in the foul ground territory behind home plate on a high school baseball field. Seems to be made of iron. No markings that I can see.

Maybe a part of an implement to groom a ball field? Like a older model unit?

I found something similar imbedded in the dirt alongside the road in pebble beach, ca. Looked aged weathered, but my piece wasn't as severely hooked as yours. I have always wondered what it was--- part of an old spanish weapon? Whaling hook ? outdoor compass part? Or...since there is a golf course adjacent, I also wondered if it wasn't a part of an aged grass cutting tool

Looks like a prosthesis for a Grizzly Bear claw.

That is what I thought as well, especially as part of an older model.

Yeah! Like a pull behind unit ??

Exactly. Could be one of the "teeth" of such a pull-behind implement. I'm gonna mark this as solved. Thanks! :icon_thumleft:

mick56: nope, a magnet doesn't stick to it.
