I get irritated when watching a video made by metal detectorists and they "find" an obviously planted treasure. How do you accurately predict what is in the can before pulling the coin out? Come on!

I cant even watch detecting vids anymore... they piss me off... heh

Dorks have taken over youtube IMO.

I guess its the only chance they got to be possibly "noticed" or an effort at "look at me" "look at me".

Some people try SO hard to be "noticed" that they look like a clown.

Well said. I'm in total agreement.
The only thing I note them for is being irritating!

DO NOT USE A GO PRO TO FILM METAL DETECTING

A. It looks awful for yourself, you think you're cool using a go pro to film METAL DETECTING
B. We get a terrible angle most of the time and annoying sounds from when the camera moves
C. You're showing us your location
D. WE ARE UNABLE TO SEE WHAT YOU FIND OR ANY CLOSE UPS OF THE FIND, BORRRRRRRRRINGGGGGGGGGGGG.

I think its the operator of the camera who sucks... and the settings chosen... not the camera really.

But you'll never catch me watching a video with the Go Pro mounted on the shaft looking at the coil swing left-right-left-right no matter what skill an operator has.(not really) Makes me sick! Come on!

There are a few detectorists that I have subscribed to on youtube. But only a couple that I watch every posting of. They both have intros and I skip over the intro. On one channel it is because the into gives away some of the finds and the other because it is always the same and there is no need for me to watch it each time. I think that they generally look better if the person detecting isn't the one doing the filming.

What I think is funny is that I actually have 1 subscriber to my Youtube channel. I didn't realize that I had a channel. I guess if you "log in" to Youtube, it makes you a channel and some autobot (Not from Transformers) "subscribed" to it.

I bought a Go Pro3 when it first came out... all the attachments... remote... extra batts... touch screen... etc.

Put out well over 500...

My intention was to have a mount on the canopy of my boat pointing forward and just let it run...
This was my idea after so many times seeing things on the water...

The moment I said "that's it I am buying one".... was when I saw a MONSTER manta ray jump at least 10 feet from the water and glide.

My girl was looking at me at the time and by the time she turned around the thing was just a splash.

Anyway...

I have played around with it a few times... evn took it detecting once or twice... which turned out to be futile.
