IS $540.00 good price for a Explorer XS

Hi i have a chance to buy a Exlporer XS with 2 coils, 7 1/2 inch and 10 1/2 inch. for $540.00 is that a good price?

Depending on how OLD and used That seems to be a fair price to me. But I looked on the Mine Lab Web site and could not find the Explorer XS , but given the price of coils I would venture to say go for it. You canprobably send it to Mine Lab and they would tune it up to factory specs for you. IMHO

Could not find the XS? It is 2 detectors back from the current SE model. There is the SE, the II and the XS/S models. Its a good detector, but you should really inspect the whole thing to make sure there are no cracks. Find out the last time the current owner sent it in for repairs or warranty work. Find out if the housing is the new replacement or the old one.

The XS has been known to crack and have problems. Here is a good site with great info on reinforcing the body of the detector.

$540 is not bad for an XS with a spare coil.
