From that area you stand a good chance of finding gold. Theres Peach Tree Mine west of you and Shuford Mine south. Tons more mines further south and west of Catawba Co. Theres 4 in Lincoln co. These might and might not be active now but we're registered once. Once you get west to Valdese and the Blue ridge its chock full of mines and claims. Like they always say, Gold is where you find it. Grab some pans and get to work.
