Is this a Civil War button?

Need help identifying this button. The backmark says Waterbury Button Co. Thanks for your help.

That backmark, as best I can tell, was around from 1849 through 1965... but, your button is NO newer than 1902.

There is a chance it's CW era, but no way to know if it's a CW artifact.

From the photos in Tice's book I would have to say it matches only one and that says "late 1800's" so Post CW.

Jim, the funny thing is, last email I had with Mr Tice about the button that is my current avatar, he dated different from what he has in his book for the back mark. Go figure.

It seems like the button at the bottom of this link is pretty close to the same.

It is the Federal general service button.

I know you guys know WAY more about buttons than me, but I am just holding out a glimmer of hope that it still might be a CW button.
