Is this a Dandy button or just junk?

Found this on a new field I was detecting over the weekend.

Is it a Dandy button or just an old washer of some kind haha. If it’s a button how old do you think it may be?

Not a button at all, looks like it had a loop on one end and a fob style loop strap on the other.....both broken off. Is it silver though?

I’m really not sure. There is no hallmarks to suggest silver is there another way to test for silver?

It kinda looks like an ornament off of horse tack. Maybe a bridle or a saddle?
