I picked this up from my LCS today. They’ve always cut me great deals and been willing to negotiate prices. We agreed upon $30 for this 3 cent coin, and after looking at it, the shop owner noticed what appeared to be a die crack running from the edge down to liberty’s head.

He still sold it for our agreed upon price since he did not notice it when he bought it.

Did I buy a die cracked 3 cent piece for $30 today?

based on your pics its looks more like damage than a die crack
die cracks are usually categorized as a very minor error and don't seem to carry much of a premium on them

I can't tell from the pics if it is a die crack or not. Die cracks are very common on the earlier nickel coins, the mint had trouble for a while with the harder metal. It is harder to find some issues without die cracks than with them and they really add no value.
