Is this a good idea or a bad one?

Let me say this up front....
I know Marc is a busy man and doesn't have time to do what I am proposing.

I have seen a bunch of great looking finds posted here from members outside the U.S.A. that never made it on the banner. I'm not saying they are being slighted on purpose. It seems like we need people designated to research those finds and decide if they need to be on the banner.

What do all of you think? Don't hold back if you think it's a bad idea...

Hey, they dropped the ball bigtime on my best this year but I don't hold it against them. ok a little :laughing7:

Even when I posted the rarity and approx. value (which I guessed low) I think most on the forum couldn't get past the fact it wasn't real pretty. Anyway the bottom line is this is not a big deal, and if we make a big deal it's going to start to take the fun out of it. The way I see it is it just motivates me to find something that wows them so much they don't even have to think about putting it on the banner. The find is where I get my high/satisfaction, the banner... whatever! :thumbsup:

PS... I had much bigger issues with the two forums I left after 5 years of posting. If the banner is the biggest problem here they're doing pretty good.

They are doing a very good job. I love this place. I just thought the reason some of the out of country (USA) finds were not getting put on the banner was because nobody is an expert on everything. Thanks for your input.

That's certainly true about no one being an expert on everything. If I had one criticism it would be about the whole voting thing because I believe it only contributes slightly to what goes up. But again, not a big deal because the bottom line is it's all for fun.
