Is this a NA artifact or just a rock that looks like one?

I found this rock along a path while walking my dog. There are a lot of rocks in this area and I am always scanning the ground for anything that might look like a NA artifact. This feels like some sort of scraping tool when you hold it but it looks to be granite and I don't know if this type rock was commonly used to make tools or points with. This was found in Raleigh, NC. Thanks for any insight or opinions.

It looks like a shard of granite and not a tool. Granite does have a tendency to break into shattered bits that are kind of 'edgy'. The shape is right, though... I can see why you noticed it. That would surely catch my eye as well!

Natural rock, sorry...

Thanks for confirming what I already thought. But as Driftwood said, it sure has the shape and feel of a worked piece.
