Is this bloodstone? looks gruesome..

These are two different rocks from north central WI, the color red is really striking in sunlight (cloudy for pics....) What is the red material? pics show each rock wet and dry, Thx for your help in advance.

Could be either quartz or chalcedony that got a red hue due to iron impurities. Not heliotrope.

I second EU, not bloodstone, however I'd almost classify the first one as an agate. Certainly a jasper anyrate. The second one is a what I'll call a quartzite with jasper inclusions~ the little red polka dots ;) As EU said the coloration is primarily from iron in the silicate.

Is Carrasite Jasper a possibility for the for the first two images?
