Is this gold?

Wondering if anyone knows if this is gold. A magnet doesn't pick it up, comes from an antique picture frame. Is this real gold or more likely to be copper or another metal?

One side is painted black & the black is now coming off but the gold metal isn't waring. Doesn't look like gold spray paint, looks solid and thick. Scratching it shows solid, gold leaf was made of thin metal which is what I think the material may be, pretty thick overall.

Can anyone verify if this is gold?

The only way to tell for sure is an acid test. Most knowledgeable jewelers can do that either for free or a nominal charge. There are other yellow metals that don't react to a magnet such as brass. So it's possible that it's gold leaf over stamped brass which would keep a yellow color.
