Dug about two weeks ago. Just wondering if this could be wrought iron. I know little of the subject except from what I’ve read online. I’m just looking at the wood like grains in the metal. Any help is appreciated. Have a great weekend!! IMG_0828.jpeg

A hot horseshoe in a forge. The metal is softened so that it can be more precisely shaped to the horse's hoof through the process of forging.

It's a mule shoe. Horses and mules have different shapes hooves.
