A few months ago I went to an Antique store. Nothing out of the ordinary just walked around. Finally I just asked the old man (mid 80s) if he had any Arrowheads or Native related items. He went in the back and came out with this. He didnt seem to care about it at all. He told me when he was a kid he would just throw them and break them because they were everywhere. I died a little inside when he said that. But I decided to go ahead and Purchase it. Im iffy as to if it is authentic or not. I asked the man he said it was. My father says it is as well. He loves it. But to me its as if its too perfect. Too good to be true. So I took some pictures and was hoping you all could give me your opinion on this item. It measures just under 6 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches at the widest point. The base is about a half inch wide. I tried to get the best pictures I could. From a couple different angles. Id love any feedback. :) Picture 41.webpPicture 39.webpPicture 37.webpPicture 36.webpPicture 35.webpPicture 34.webpPicture 33.webpPicture 28.webpPicture 27.webpPicture 25.webp

It is beautiful! There is ways of telling but before I even looked at it I was pretty sure that a man. With his attitude about authentic points would never bother keeping a reproduction around.

There are a ton of fakes out there , only way to know is have it authenticated. If you have a powerful scope or mag glass look at edges and the flaking. I think it is fake but you never know for sure till it is looked at by professional.

Hi Zerick, it looks to perfect to me, but if he gives you a good price there's nothing wrong in getting a reproduction, if you live in Florida and go to the artifacts shows check this person out, he's name is Carlos

Where was it supposed to have been found?

It looks obsidian and should be from the west coast.

To hard to say for sure from just the pictures if it's good or not.

I do alot of knapping. Looks likes it was done from a sawed slab.Just my 2 cent and that all it is worth 2 cent.

Spend $20 and send it to an authenticator. Cheap peace of mind. PM me if you want the name of someone I trust.

It looks like it came off the assembly line. No way its real for 20 bucks!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I just think it looks too good to be Authentic. But I might just fork out the money to have it checked out. I appreciate it all. :)
Ill post some of the real ones I have found soon. :)

And to The Grim Reaper the man didnt tell me where it was supposed to be from. But to me it looks like Great Basin area. And im pretty sure it is Obsidian.

Two things I have found out through asking permission to hunt artifacts on other's land, old people and farmers care nothing for arrowheads. Both of them will tell you that looking is a waste of time and then ask what is so special about them. If the old man was in his 80's , I'd say it is real.
