It may look like crap, but it is a capped.

Went out today with some buddies from our club. We hit my ghost town again today. We hunted a total of about 5 hours. My buddy Azmodeus found some coin finds and they were unusual for this area due to town died in 1843. He found a 1883 Indian and a Nickel from 1950's. I was detecting the same areas as the last time and pulled out another Capped Dime. It was a 1824 with a 4 over the 2 in the date. It looks like it had been in a fire and was very rough shape. Thanks for looking and HH.

THIS IS YOUR FACE ON CRACK!! Lol. Still a keeper!! ;D

Rough shape or not....it still counts :icon_thumright:

Oh man. I tell you that you're going to have a tough time finding an older US silver than that 1827 you pulled out a few weeks ago and you beat it in a matter of days? You are setting the bar pretty high for all of us in this area. Congrats on the great finds!

Thanks. I forgot that you had posted that about old silver. LOL. You did see that I found a bit of a 1791 Spanish 8 Reale a few days later. HH

I forgot you did say U.S. silver. My Bad.

That is a unique coin. Looks great to me. Well done!!!

well nice coin, silver is silver happy huntin

I've never seen silver crack like that.....isn't that rather unusual? Is that a result of a fire?

I'd take a find like that any day

ANY capped bust silver is a great find, regardless of condition. My first one came this month. Took 20 years to find one, and a lot of holes dug. It was worn smooth, but I'll take it.

Congratulations,

Buckleboy

As others have said, I'd take that crap any day! ;D
