It Only Took Me 23 Years, But I Finally Got One!!

My first ever gold ring pulled from the ground! I did find a wallet full of rings a couple years ago, but those were stashed, so I don't count them . Anyway, this the first time I have ever seen a gold ring in my plug. It was an awesome feeling! It was a choppy signal that was reading in the 40s and 50s on the AT Max. Once it was out of the hole, I was sure that it was going to be another pull tab or beaver tail. It was a huge surprise to see gold! It was an even bigger surprise to see that the band was engraved with "NEW ORLEANS. 1911"! The hallmark is a star and "A", which is for the Allsopp Brothers. They made high end jewelry in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I tested it when I got home and it tests 14k. This was definitely a great way to end the hunt. Thanks for looking and HH!

Great find, love that date! I guess I'm just lucky, because I've found quite a few. The secret to my success has been hunting the Ski resorts during summertime. People pull off their gloves, off come the rings and into the snow...later to be found by me!
