It took a year to get this neighbors yard First 2 & 1/2 HRS.
My wife and I just celebrated our 1st year in Portland since our big move down from Bangor last year . The townhouse we bought in Portland was built in 1900 . Most of the other houses in the neighborhood were built in the mid 1800's with two of my neighbors claiming their house was built in 1852 .I hunted my yard last year and some this spring . Thus far I have pulled an 1864 CW token and a 1865 Indian Head from my lawn which I knew were spill over from the neighbors yards wich abutt mine in the back . Today is the 3 rd time I have talked to this nice older couple about meteldetecting the neighborhood and today they were very receptive and gave me the go ahead . The nice woman actually said knock your self out ! This is one of the 2 1852 properties which abutt my property . Not a bad start ! 7 wheaties 1922 to 1952 , a 1940 nickel , and a 1945 war nickel were the only coins found . The big 35 mm three piece button with the disintegrating pewter roman soldier figure on the front was my most interesting find . I cannot find a mark on it ??
a couple of nice keys , a lead bulldog, The " Remember me" ring ?? another flat button ,the marble and the funny shaped wazzit with some gold gilt still left on it ! Thanks for looking !! MaineRelic

Could that gold covered what-it be a keyhole cover?
