It Was So Hot in San Francisco I Could Not Take it......

When you think of San Francisco, you think of clammy, foggy, & cool weather. But on Friday, the City by the Bay soared to an astonishing 106 degrees, its hottest temperature in recorded history!
The 106-degree reading downtown shattered the previous record of 103, set June 14, 2000. Records have been kept there since June 1874 or almost 150 years.
The National Weather Service forecast office serving the Bay Area called the record “incredible.”

Today is wasn't much better. SF hit 104 degrees today! At the Giants Cardinals game today at AT&T Park the temp hit 104 in the 10th inning! It was so uncomfortable trying to metal detect in the heat I called it quits after only 3 hours. But I did manage to dig a 52-S rosie and 2 wheaties at a school, and about $ 5.00 in clad at a tot lot. ...Stay cool out there..

Man, he's not kidding. Record breaking heat here this weekend. Ive been holding out to do night hunts, and its still too hot. Just tried to get in bed for some sleep, and it feels like someone left an electric blanket on all day. Disgusting.

We're spoiled by our normally moderate weather. I know temps like we're having can be normal for other places, but trouble is AC does not exist out here. Id almost be willing to trade my detector for a window ac unit.

Nice finds, cool hand fluke. No silver for me. But i found a whole roll of nickles at the beach.

When it's too hot you can always go coin roll hunting with a fan on, thrift store browsing for treasure or just do some research on new detecting spots, historic aerial sites, google earth, plan your next trips?

For some odd reason the weather has done a flip, we're getting the West coast weather in Eastern Ontario. But that's just hot and it's a heat alert type of temps. here.

88 degrees at 5 AM in San Diego; insane.
Been living in SoCal for over 50 years; never experienced this level of heat so early in the day.

man that's hot but you did great in heat silver clad& ring well done my wife and one of my sons went to a s.f. comiccon at Moscone west center took ferry at larks burg and walked. everyone was talking about the heat

It was 58 degrees in Port Allegheny today. I would install an A/C and stay indoors with 100 degrees temperatures.
