It's Barber Time!! 25 Wheats, 2 Silver (1895 Quarter)
Hello Everyone,
I went out detecting yesterday with my good buddies oknorom(Mike), DanaPointVal, and GoldenApples(Jon). We all found plenty of oldies yesterday at our local Barrio park that has been pounded by many detectorists over the past 25 years. My silver to wheat ratio wasn't so great yesterday, but I did manage to find my oldest coin from this park, which is my oldest silver so far this year. The barber quarter came out of the ground as a white-ish/grey disk at around 7-8", which was probably in circulation for plenty of years after its mintage. After recovering countless mercs/rosies from this park so far this year, seeing a Barber quarter in your plug is a pleasant surprise. These types of coins are definitely a rarity here in S. CA. After recovering nearly 770 silver coins over the past 14 months, I've only managed to find 4 of them. I removed the oxidation from the quarter using electrolysis.
We all had a blast!
Thanks for looking! Keep the Passion High!!

Hope I'm not doing something wrong to miss them....
?? The barber looks well spent.
.
I'm thankful to be out detecting with my buddies, who I consider just as proficient as me, considering I could barely walk up 5 stairs back in Dec. 06.

I have only been fortunate enough to find 4 barber coins (all dimes). I was thrilled when I found each one. Definitely a change of pace from the newer silver coins.....not that I've found too many of those either.
