Not a ribbon, they are wings, it is an U.S. Army Airforce sweetheart pin. Different branches had different styles. That's cool. I believe it was hung from a brooch with the part that pinned on being in the shape of a ribbon bow, or an airplane, or the even the word "sweetheart". Several different styles were available.
Yes I realize they are wings and the insignia of the US Army Air Corps. I meant that it likely hung from a stylized metal 'ribbon' or some other styled device that would have had the brooch pin. Much like this Army sweetheart locketNot a ribbon, they are wings, it is an U.S. Army Airforce sweetheart pin. Different branches had different styles.![]()
Thank you Red-Coat. You are always such a wealth of info!Nice pendant. The maker mark is ‘THEDA’, embedded within the word ‘STERLING’. That’s a trademark for the Ideal Jewelry Manufacturing Company of Providence, Rhode Island. The mark wasn’t registered until 1963, but with a claimed date for first use in commerce of 1921. The mark was cancelled in 1988.
Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!We didn't find a ton, but we did find a really cool world war two sweetheart pendant. can anyone tell me more about this?
