My job involves driving all over the Orlando and surrounding area. I use the map program Delorme with a GPS, anytime I pass a park, or place thats looks promising, I tag it on my map. When ever I get off work, if there is time I look at my map and stop by the closest place to hunt a short while.

Today after work, I stopped by a small park real close and as I started hunting it started raining, I thought, I'm here I'm hunting, rain or no rain.

I found what I thought was a nice heavy gold earing, but upon arriving home and farther checking in good light, I found it is not gold, just gold plated

Oh well, at least it felt good when I found it....

Gah. That would have been a sweet gold find. Sorry it turned out to be plated. Still looks like a pretty good find. I bet it would make a great gift for someone.

Thanks for the advice Sherman, but it's waterproof, a Whites Beach Hunter Id. I on the other hand got soaked.
