As some of you out there can imagine( or know already) time for the 2009 fall season hunting is getting pretty close to the end and could end anytime in the next week or two, but let's hope it's longer. Me and Iron Patch went out to check a couple of bean fields that were recently cut down, which were great looking, but sadly didn't hold a lot of good signals. We did however find a site that was pretty old ,but just didn't give us a really good find today. Just before we left, my last coin was a USA largie, which I hardly ever find! Last one I found must have been three or four years ago! So, in the end, it wasn't a great big find, or a great find, or a big find, just a large one......have one for yourself!

Coronet cents are always fun to dig, even though they aren't 1700s. I love how they are thicker than most largies.

Well done on the largie, its in decent shape too. Its funny how you don't find them often out your way. Here where I live, they are very, very common. I did a quick count on my US large coppers in the last year, and i'm at 30. I'll trade you some coppers for some of those nice french silvers you guys like to find!.

It may be where you're hunting. I have 16 Large Cents from Kentucky this year.

Nice find IH...I've found one US large (at the French Silver site) a couple years ago but not in nearly as nice condition as yours!
