It's just ONE merc...but you gotta' see why it was still in the ground.

Finally found someone in my area to hunt with. It's made it a lot more fun and even if his areas are pounded..at least I have different places and a friend to hunt with. If our ladies let us...we'll be hunting a lot more before the weather changes. Anyway this is just one lonely silver dime but we were both shocked I found it so I wanted to post it. It was 6" down and directly below it was this huge chunk of iron..either an old broken file or maybe an old part of a knife?? He said..."man that little coil is amazing".
We both agreed that dime probably had been passed over a hundred times before ..but obviously masked by the iron. Who says the SE can't sniff goodies out of the trash??? Sorry for the short post...but I need to head to work.

Hello Bryce,

Congrats on being able to find that merc amongst iron. I can't tell you how many masked silvers I have found this year.....too many to count. The SE is extremely capable of finding those elusive old coins.

I'm sure there are a few more hiding....go seek them out. ;)

Thanks Dan.
Guess what I've got coming in the mail in a week or so??? Okay I'll tell....an EX2 coil!!!

Sweet! I fee the same way - I'm continually amazed at some of the other stuff that comes out of the hole, along with a good coin, after digging those iffy signals. Last week I got a number of "blended" signals, where you could hear both a high and low conductor in the same hole; after digging I'd often find a pull tab right next to (touching - 1 inch) the desirable target. It seems the machine often "knows" which signal (the good one) to amplify to get you to dig. Of course I guess we'll never know with the ones we pass up, but so often I find myself thinking "it's not really me, it's more my machine..."

Congrats on getting a good coin from a "worked out" park... there's a lot more out there...
Thanks. It does make it interesting chasing an iffy signal.

Real nice find Silverfreak, I found one today myself less the iron bar. The explorer is a fantastic machine, keep 'em coming...

I would recomend that 6" excelerator over any other coil I have ever used. You would be amazed at the depth and separation you get.
