It's ugly and busted...but it's GOLD!

I found these two items at a new location. I was scouting in a new area when I found a field which had just been plowed over. I got out and checked the back corner and immediately started finding pottery and glass everywhere! I found the owner and secured permission but could only hunt for a half hours before the torrential rains. These two targets and a broken harness buckle were what I was able to pull out. The owner told me that the house had stood on that location since the early 1800s and was torn down in the early 1970s. There is a lot of iron and junk but I am confident that there are many, many more targets on this site. I'll be back!

The ring is 10k and there is a single diamond chip on where the side would have been. The larger stone is long gone.

Not bad at all for just a quick looksie best part is you get to go back and with gold already in your pocket it can only get better from here on out!

From the land of the Bluenose.....that is a nice one. Soon time to hit the fields in the Windsor and other areas. Water a tad on the chilly side. Keep us posted on the other finds once you redo that area.

Nice quick find. Hey, Gold is Gold beat up or not. Take the chip out and sell the gold. Who knows you may still come across the big stone, glitter in the sun.

Dunno if you're this advantageous, but if you know about where you found it, you can always go back and do some sifting....? that rock might be worth some dough! Nice anyways!

congrats on the ring! You could still get it bent back to almost original. I have gotten rings bent like that pretty much back to shape with a graduated round wooden dowel. I usually use a wood mallet also. WTG!!

nice gold ring. id go back and dig all around the hole and sift the dirt or a pan of water you might find the stone.the ring may have been droped in the snow and ran over by a car and the stone fell out.maybe worth the effort.
